Our God is just

“Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict.” Job 37:23

It is so hard for us to understand the ways of God, Paul puts it this way in Romans 11:33 he says “O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!”

Amen, “His ways are past finding out” For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. Isaiah 55:8

People often ask this question “Why would a just God send people to hell?” after all He says not to judge? The answer is simple Psalm 89:14 says about God “Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face.”

Our God is merciful and just and because of that He cannot allow sinners into heaven (a place of pure perfection and Holiness.) We have sinned and rebelled against God and therefore cannot enter into His presence “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” Romans 3:23  we have all fallen short of God’s glory, and because we chose to sin we are headed to a Christ-less eternity in hell.

BUT GOD sent His son Jesus to earth to pay the penalty for our sins… death. And Jesus even though He was perfect and Holy, loves us enough that He took our sins on Himself, He bore the wrath that we deserved and died the cruelest death, so that we would have an opportunity to know God.

But that’s not the end He triumphantly rose from the dead and ascended to heaven where He now He sits at the right hand of His Father interceding for us and as He said in John 14:3 He is preparing a place for us and He will come again to gather up His bride (The Church) and take them home. O what a blessed day that will be!
